About one third of Canadians would rather give up their television than part ways with their smartphone, according to an online survey by Google. Google Canada’s head of mobile advertising, Eric Morris, says that the study shows people are using their smartphones in all areas of life, whether for their job, travel, shopping, the way they communicate with others, or trying to understand the world around them.

Canadians Love Their Smartphones

1,000 Canadians participated in the survey that revealed about 56 percent of Canadians now use smartphones compared to 33 percent in 2012.

This increase is probably due to the variety of different phones on the market, and the new ability for the phone companies to provide different services for the smartphones.

It’s also very interesting to note that about 75 per cent of the people in the survey said that they had streamed video on their small screen, and about one in five said they did it daily.
